A MESSAGE FROM THE
CHIEF OF POLICE
Dear Friends, Supporters, and Community Partners,
I want to personally thank all of you for visiting the Signal Hill Police Foundation website, and for your support of both the Foundation and the Signal Hill Police Department. Your support has allowed the Signal Hill Police Department to expand its community-oriented policing programs, making these programs so much more than they were in years past. The Signal Hill Police Foundation is unique as it is dedicated to the goal of making the partnership between our citizens and their police department stronger. This is accomplished by the many outreach activities that the Signal Hill Police Department has held in the last year including National Night Out, the Tip-a-Cop events, and our Holiday Outreach events, to name just a few. I also want to recognize and thank the Signal Hill Police Foundation Board of Directors for all of their hard work and dedication in making the Foundation what it is today.
With the help of the Signal Hill Police Foundation, the Signal Hill Police Department will be able to form a closer relationship with the community that we serve − a relationship that is built on mutual respect, trust, and input from our community partners. I am honored to serve as your Chief of Police, and I am proud to be associated with the Signal Hill Police Foundation.
Christopher M. Nunley

A MESSAGE FROM THE
The Signal Hill Police Foundation was formed to support the existing community outreach efforts of the Signal Hill Police Department and create new opportunities to outreach to the community. The Foundation will offer financial support where need may arise to the men and women of the Signal Hill Police Department who give their full-time attention to the interests of community welfare and existence.
The Signal Hill Police Department sponsors one of the largest vintage car shows in Southern California through a partnership with the Sultan's Car Club of Long Beach. Donated funds support officers teaching our local children about the perils of drug abuse. That program has been expanded to include an anti-bullying message. At the conclusion of the program, these kids enjoy a soap box derby and pizza party.
Signal Hill Police Officers regularly spend their own off-duty time with sick children at Miller’s Children’s Hospital and make dreams come true for other children through support of organizations like the Make-a-Wish Foundation and Special Olympics. Every year, the Signal Hill Police Department coordinates a Holiday Outreach program where dozens of families are supported through the holidays with gifts of toys, food and necessities.
I urge you to be part of the People and Police Team and join me and many others as we build a safer community here in Signal Hill.
President, Signal Hill Police Foundation
